Misterio I

Chapter 1
Let me begin by apologizing for the eventual grammar mistakes. Getting this finished wasn’t easy, although I consider myself good at writing. It was a great challenge, believe me! This is not about getting more attention, I don’t expect anything in return. I know many people will not understand this. I am aware of this. I don’t judge them, in fact, I respect them and thank them for helping me to be more powerfull!
I was just so pleased and surprised, at the same time, by the great feedback freestylers, familly and friends gave me, that I felt I had to say “Thank you!” somehow. Consider this, then, a way of showing my appreciation if you please.
Back in 2007 I was practicing real hard. I managed to improve in a decent period of time. This gave me alot of confidence, because I was taking freestyle really competitive. At the same time I was searching a way of creating a more interesting video, I wanted to bring a story, a strong personality, not just some random combos with a decent editing and a catchy song. No disrespect to anyone, but I feel this all the time, getting the impression that I’m watching the same freestyle video, over and over again. What I’m trying to say is that this is not just a sport, we all realise it’s a way of living, thinking, educating your mind and your body. So why not showing how great this sport is for us, in our videos? Why not telling the people the story behind your video? Why not being creative in your own style? If freestyle is so important for you, show it to the others! Tell your story to the others! Inspire them if you can! Make them fall in love with this lifestyle!
Originality is so important in this sport that sometimes I wonder how people forget this so easily. So, yes, I was looking for an original story, wich would show my passion not just for freestyle in general, but for this lifestyle in general.
It all happened one evening, after a freestyle training with my dear friends Dinu and Lucian. We were chillin’ on a bench, drinking Coke, making jokes, talking about freestyle and combos etc, like normal freestylers do  We sometimes stayed to talk about freestyle and chillin’ even more time than the training itself! Anyway, so Dinu says something like: ”Hey Mache, try a tatw with the hands in your pockets!”. I say “No, let’s try a blind tatw!”. He replyes “No, you’re a retard, that’s stupid! We should make a video with a Roland McDonald costume!”. Then I go “Look who’s the stupid one now haha! We should better put on a mask, so that people wouldn’t recognize us!”. After one minute of laughter, we all become serious, and look at eachother: “Hey, that’s not such a bad idea!!!”. At that moment I realised it was almost a year since my last proper video so I said: “Maybe if I work harder, people wouldn’t recognize me or my style.”. There you go, this is the idea I was searching for: a masked skilled freestyler, wich will bring some more originality in the freestyle videos. This guy is not the key player, he’s just an actor. His message will be more important than his identity. There you have it! This “new freestyler” was born. His name? First and only choice – Misterio!
In the next part, you’ll read more interesting stuff about this. Trust me, this is such a great story!
